Biography

(John Erik) Hugo Gehlin (b. Norrköping, Sweden 1889 - d. Helsingborg, Sweden 1953) studied in Stockholm and abroad. He was a multi-disciplinary artist and craftsperson, who painted altarpieces, designed stained glass and mosaics for churches, created sculpture in wood and glass and produced pewter candelabra, bowls, bottles and jars as well as making woodcuts, illustrating his and others’ collections of poems.
