The CAS Team have been installing two major commissions by Karine Laval and Ryan Mosley at the soon-to-open 22 Bishopsgate – the tallest tower in the City of London. 22 is a new type of workplace with culture and creativity at its heart, designed specifically to benefit and support its community. Take a look at what the team were up to!
Karine Laval’s, Heterotopia is an ongoing project in which the New York-based artist documents public and private gardens around the world. This is the artist’s first site-specific commission in the UK. The work combines analogue and digital photographic technologies to deliver a series of abstractions that play with scale and perspective to deliver a fantastical garden in the heart of the City.
Sheffield-based artist Ryan Mosley has created ten wall hangings for the lobby spaces that combine collage, paint and tapestry. In a departure from his formal painting practice, the artist has opted to work with mixed media to create a sense of warmth, comfort and craft for the public spaces of the building. Each work features a human figure in a deliberately staged pose, suggesting the theatres and performances London is so famous for.
