Two new permanent public artworks managed by Contemporary Art Society Consultancy for the North West Cambridge development are now open to the public. Pixel Wall and Fata Morgana Teahouse by artist duo Winter & Hörbelt are situated in Brook Leys at the new development of Eddington in North West Cambridge.
The giant, mirrored, stainless steel pixels that comprise Pixel Wall entice the viewer to come closer whilst distorting both their image and the reflected landscape to create a mirage of sky, water and surroundings.
The Fata Morgana Teahouse provides a more reflective space to spend time and contemplate the surroundings while sitting inside an architectural creation with no straight lines.
Both works were commissioned by the University of Cambridge’s North West Cambridge Development through the public art programme managed by the Contemporary Art Society and Insite Arts.
