Biography
Emilie Taylor (b. Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK 1980) is a ceramic artist and social worker. An alumna of Young Master Art Prize, she has a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Art Psychotherapy.Taylor has had several residencies in the UK and abroad, and has exhibited at Ruthin Craft Centre, Wales, Arts & Crafts House Blackwell (2015); Chatsworth House, Derbyshire (2014); Yorkshire Sculpture Park (2012). Edgelands, a commissioned exhibition, toured throughout the UK in 2017/18, venues including Gallery Oldham, The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent; Crafts Study Centrer, Farnham; and the Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead. Beating the Bounds, reflecting on Taylor's own experience of becoming a mother was held at Bosse & Baum, London in 2019. Her most recent, and third, solo exhibition (May Day, May Day, May Day) was at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum (2021). Taylor is currently working with the Ken Stradling Collection, Bristol, responding to the slipware of Sam Haile, (to be exhibited in Autumn, 2024. She is also creating new work for the collection at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, part of Bradford District Museums & Galleries, a project supported by the Contemporary Art Society.
