Biography
The Lightbox in Woking, Surrey is an award-winning charitable arts and heritage organisation with a social purpose to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of its community. It was established in 2007 with the strong belief that art has the power to make us all feel good and it strives to ensure that this philosophy is at the heart of everything they do. It has a diverse cultural programme which includes exhibitions, across three galleries, featuring world-renowned artists and local heritage. It regularly holds talks and tours, social events and arts and crafts workshops for all ages. The Lightbox holds The Ingram Collection, Joan Hurst Collection and The Heritage Collection. It was awarded the Art Fund Museum of the Year in 2008 and became a museum member of the Contemporary Art Society in 2023.
