Alice Browne (1986)

Biography

Alice Browne (b. Oxford, UK 1986) studied at Abingdon & Witney College (2005-06); Wimbledon College of Art, University of the Arts London (2006-09) and the Royal College of Art, London (2014-16). Her practice is predominantly 2D based; she works with painting, drawing, printmaking and collage and has exhibited throughout  the UK and abroad. She gained a New Contemporaries Studio Bursary with Hospitalfield, Angus (2017) and a Land Securities Studio Award and Bursary with Bow Arts Trust (2017-17). Her first solo show was Still Real at The Foundry, London (2008) and others have included: Young British Art (2011), curated by Ryan Gander at the Limoncello Gallery, London, and subsequent shows tere; The 8 Artistic Principles (2014) at the Attic Gallery, Nottingham, curated by Joshua Lockwood; Project Space, Prosjektrom Normanns, Stavanger, Norway (2014) and most recently Camouflage, Flatland Gallery, Amsterdam (2019) and Second Star to the Right, Galerie Liusa Wang, Paris (2022). Her work is in a varety of collections siuich as Government Art Collection, Simmons & Simmons Law Firm, Aspen Insurance and Soho House. Her work is also on loan to the Allbright Collection in London & LA and included in many private collections.
