Biography
Christian Jacques Boullaire (b. Paris 1893 - d. Paris 1976) studied under Guy Arnoux and Dimitrios Galanis and began wood engraving in 1926. He exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries from 1926,;at the Salon des indépendants from 1927 to 1945; then at the Salon d'automne from 1928).He subsequently became a guest and non-member exhibitor of the Société de la gravure sur bois originale (SGBO), and organised special exhibitions of his works. Boullaire visited and depicted Tahiti where his wife, Anne Hervé, was from.
