Biography
Dr Richard Sykes (1946-2019) was Chair of the De La Warr Pavilion Charitable Trust (2003 – 2008), leading the Board during the De La Warr Pavilion refurbishment project of 2003 – 2005. He and his wife, Penny Mason, have been generous supporters of the Contemporary Art Society for nearly three decades and its Future Fund and were CAS Centenary Patrons (2007-2014) and Honorary Patrons from 2009. They were also avid art collectors championing young, emerging artists. They enjoyed being at the centre of a debate with 'bright young minds'.
