Biography
Henry Butler (b. UK 1882 - d. 1967) studied at Liverpool School of Art where he received a silver medal for drawings, design and painting, as well as the King's Prize. He continued his studies in Paris under Amédée Ozenfant. He exhibited at the Royal British Academy; the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers; Walker Art Gallery and the New English Art Club. He was head of the department of pictorial design at Derby School of Art and taught at Bristol School of Art and at Bradford College of Art where he was deputy and acting head.
