Biography

Jacques Winsburg (b. Paris, France 1929 - d. Belvézet, France 1999) was a self-taught artist of figures and landscapes who was part of the second School of Paris in 1950s/60s. He was also a member of the Comédiens de Provence troupe and one of the performers of the piece Huis clos by Jean-Paul Sartre, mime and cabaret singer. He had solo exhibitions at Breteau Gallery, Paris (1954) and Simone Badinier Gallery, Paris (1957) and participated in Salon of Independents, Paris (1954) and the Salon d'Automne, Paris (1954, 1955 & 1957).
