Liz Lowe (1956)

Biography

Liz Lowe studied drawing at Camberwell College of Arts, University of Arts London (2015). She works in London at Second Floor Studios & Arts and Thames Barrier Print Studio. Lowe was a recipient of the Float Art Award and Clyde & Co. Art Award (both 2015). She was commissioned to design Architectural Glass for new building at Kings College Hospital, Denmark Hill, London. Lowe has said: "As a socially engaged artist my work relates to people and place, exploring the personal and the political, often including figurative elements and teetering between 2D and 3D. Whilst drawing underpins my practice I love working with the solidity and flexibility of metal – from foundry caste bronze and aluminium to modest chicken wire fencing.”  More recently, Lowe participated in the group exhibition, Of the Earth at The Heong Gallery, Downing College, Cambridge, UK (2021) and The Shape of Things, CLAN collective at Gallery 3, Margate (2023).
