Malcolm Pepper (b. 1937 - d. 1980) studied at Poole School of Art under Philip Wadsworth(1910-1991) (a pupil of Staite Murray at the Royal Collge of Art). During the 1970s Pepper had a studio in Brighton where he produced stoneware and porcelain on the wheel, in the Chinese tradition. Much of his early work was unmarked until the late 1970s. In 1980 a major exhibition of over 100 of his pots was organised at the Casson Gallery in London but he died shortly afterwards, before enjoying its success.
