Biography
Max Nathan (b. Aarhus, Denmark 1880 - d. Kildekrog, Denmark 1952) graduated from Vermehrens School (1899); studied at The Danish Royal Academy of Fine Arts (1900-05); and at Kristian Zahrtmann School under Johan Rohde (1907-08). he rravelled to Italy (1906-07) and Paris (1910-11) where he was a pupil of Maurice Denis and Édouard Vuillard.
