Nell Vyse (b. 1892 – d. 1967) originally trained as a singer. She married the sculptor, designer and studio potter Charles Vyse (1882-1971) in 1911. She was particularly skilful at glazing and they collaborated until they divorced in 1940, when Nell followed a more political life, becoming a Communist. They originally lived in Cheyne Walk, Chelsea, near to George Eumorfopoulos (1863-1939), a collector of Chinese ceramics that had a large influence on the style of studio pottery in Britain.
