Assistant Keeper, Art, at the Whitworth Art Gallery at Manchester University (1973-1980); Deputy Principal Keeper (1980-81); Director of Bradford City Art Galleries and Museums (1981-1988); Chairman of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (1982-); (Founding) Director of the Henry Moore Sculpture Trust (1988-1999)
