

Rudolph Josef Kratina (b. Dresden, Germany 1891 - Fulton County, Atlanta, Georgia, USA) was a member of the music faculty of the University of Georgia, in Athens, for many years before his retirement. He was also an accomplished cellist, playing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. He studied art for years before focusing on music, and restored numerous paintings in Roman Catholic churches in the area. He also played in a number of symphony and opera orchestras throughout Europe under the direction of Richard Strauss, and other accomplished conductors.
