A series of 14 black on white prints by Simon Patterson, each representing historic couple of related individuals from arts, politics and science, for example Ulrike Meinhof and Andreas Baader; Man Ray and Lee Miller were given to Manchester Art Gallery from the bequest to the Contemporary Art Society from the estate of Dr Thomas Frangenberg (1957-2018), art history lecturer, contemporary art collector and notable elected buyer for the Contemporary Art Society in 2005.
