Jane Bustin (1964)

Biography

Jane Bustin (b. Borehamwood, UK 1964) attended Hertfordshire College of Art (1982–3) and Portsmouth Polytechnic (1983–6). She attended Labotatorio per Affresco, Prato, Italy in 1990. She won a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award(1993) and a London Arts Board Award (1996). Her group shows have included Aspex Gallery (1986); Modern and Contemporary Painters, Christie’s (1991); Art Cologne, International Art Fair (1993); The Abstract Landscape, Milton Gallery (1995); ARTfutures, Contemporary Art Society, Royal Festival Hall (1999); and New Prints, Flowers Graphics (2000). Among her solo exhibitions were Atemwende (Breathturn) at the Eagle Gallery (2000). She is  known for her minimalist, monochromatic panels with delicate surfaces which reveal nuances and changes when viewed over sustained periods and in altered atmospheric conditions.
