Biography
Enslin Du Plessis (b. Standerton, South Africa 1894 - d. 1978) was a journalist who painted for pleasure in the years before World War I. He settled in London in 1922, working on the editorial staff of Argus South African Newspapers until 1956. There he resumed painting in 1928 and was elected as member of The London Group the following year. He made occasional visits to his homeland, exhibiting there with the New Group in 1938. Du Plessis was awarded the South African Akadamie Medal of Honour for painting in 1972.
