Biography
John Selway (b. Askern, South Yorkshire UK 1938 - d. 2017) moved to Abertillery in South Wales when very young. He studied at Newport College of Art (1953-57) and at the Royal College of Art (1959-62). Selway became a member of the 56 Group and showed his work widely in the UK and abroad, including at the International Art Fairs in Dusseldorf and Basel. His solo shows were held at Roland Browse and Delbanco and the Piccadilly Gallery, both in London, and at Oriel Washington Gallery in Cardiff. A retrospective was held at Newport Museum and Art Gallery in 2006.
