Harry Seager RBSA (1931 - 2021)

Biography

Harry Seager (b. Birmingham, UK 1931 - d. 2021), attended the Birmingham College of Arts and Crafts (1951–5). He settled in Stourbridge, Worcestershire, where he lectured at the College of Art until 1989. He was primarily a sculptor in a variety of media, notably sheet glass. He had several solo shows at Gimpel Fils, London from 1965. At various times Seager was preoccupied by figuration, Constructivism, Minimalism and draughtsmanship. Public sculptures by him include the stylised Youth, in concrete, in Birmingham, completed in 1958.
