Geoff Rigden (1943 - 2016)

Biography

Geoffrey Rigden (b. Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, UK 1943 - d. London 2016) studied at the Somerset College of Art, Taunton (1960-63) and the Royal College of Art, London (1963-66). He was the junior prize winner at the John Moores, Liverpool (1965) and participated in many group exhibitions throughout the UK including at the AIA Gallery, London (1968); Museum of Modern Art, Oxford (1971); Stockwell Depot Annual, London (1975, 1979 and 2015); Hayward Gallery Annual (1980 and 1982); Greenwich Studios Annual, London (1985-2001) and several in Nicosia, Cyprus as well as in New York. He had several solo exhibitions at the Air Gallery (1983); Francis Graham-Dixon Gallery (1988-1993); at Angela Flowers Gallery and had a retrospective at the APT Gallery, Deptford, London in 2016.
