Biography
Catherine Lampert (b. Washington, USA 1946) is a freelance art historian and curator. She was Senior Curator at the Hayward Gallery and then Director of the Whitechapel Gallery (1988-2001). She is Visiting Professor, University of the Arts, London and was a model for Frank Auerbach. She has written books on Auerbach, Freud, Euan Uglow, Alÿs and Rodin and texts on Peter Doig and the Daumier exhibition (Royal Academy, London; 2013).
