Biography
Jean Davey Winter (b. Leicester, UK) lives in Hastings, East Sussex. She originally trained in Printed Textiles at Birmingham College of Art & Design and for many years combined her personal work with lecturing, including five years as Course Leader of the Fine Art Degree Course at BCUC in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Here recent exhibitions include: Two Worlds - two person show with Brian Rybolt, Hastings Arts Forum (2020); Dreaming in Cuban, Westminster Reference Library, London (2019); Aereality, Hastings Arts Forum, Hastings, East Sussex (2015); Landmarks, Studio Eleven Gallery, Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire (2014); Aerial Perspectives, Brighton City Airport Gallery, Shoreham, West Sussex (2013); Journeys, Arts in Healthcare, Conquest Hospital Gallery, Hastings (2010); Here and There, Hastings Arts Forum, Hastings, East Sussex (2008); Voyages et Voyageurs,Galerie du Bureau dÉtudes, Airbus, Toulouse, France (2007). Although primarily a mixed media painter Davey Winter's practice extends to photography, printmaking, ‘concertina books’ and ‘ folding maps’.
