Biography
Painter who studied at Kingston Polytechnic, 1982–6, and Royal College of Art, 1987–9. Although an abstract artist, her work was reminiscent of places and the natural world, using subtle, poetic colours. Gained several awards, including the Picker Travel Scholarship and in 1989 first prize in the Barclays Young Painters’ Award. Exhibited widely in group shows such as New Contemporaries, Into the Nineties at Mall Galleries, LG and in (dis)parities at Mappin Art Gallery, Sheffield, in 1992, and in 1993 at Herbert Art Gallery, Coventry. Contemporary Art Society and Leicestershire Education Authority hold her work.
