Henry George Cogle (b. Plymouth, Devon, UK 1875 - d. 1957) went to the Devonport Dockyard School, after which he attended Plymouth School of Art. He went on to hold several teaching appointments, being an assistant at Belfast School of Art, then headmaster of Battersea School of Art until 1936. He showed at the Royal Acadmey, with the London Group and at the, Leicester and Redfern Galleries. Cogle had a solo show at Plymouth Museum and Art Gallery in 1948.
