

Pierre Guastalla (b. Saint-Cloud, France 1891 - d. Paris 1968) studied an engineering degree at the École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures (1912). After WW1, he studied at the Académie Ranson, Paris, under Jacques Beltrand (1874-1977). Guastalla was one of the most productive young engravers of his time, active from 1921 to 1968. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and in various places while his paintings are held in several museums. He was one of the founders of Young Contemporary Engraving in 1929.
