Details

Classification:

Painting

Materials:

Oil, Canvas

Physical Object Description:

A view of boats moored in the harbour at St Tropez in the South of France. Three rowing boats are pulled up on the shore in foreground, and larger boats with tall masts are moored to the harbour wall along the right, which has a lighthouse at end of wall. The water is blue and calm, with hills behind in the background to left. The bold outlines make the shapes in the painting very definite, and give everything a solid, geometrical quality.
