Big Science (1994-95) relates to Zadok Ben-David's massive installation, Evolution and Theory (1999), which contrasts evolution by natural selection with evolution by scientific progress and discovery. Taken from an image found in a scientific manual such as those produced in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Ben-David's flat rendering of obsolete scientific measuring devices poses that 'science is no more substantial than alchemy.'
