The Danish artist Bjorn Wiinblad produced the same figure of Celia frequently in his work, but painted it differently. His ceramics have a whimsical quality, and vary from decorative plates to candlesticks, flower holders and sculptural items. Celia (c. 1986), a flirtatious young thing with pert round breasts, holding blue glazed plaits, is in fact a flower container - her hat holds a flowerpot. The renowned art collectors Eric and Jean Cass bought the piece from the artist's studio on a visit to Copenhagen, and decided to place it out of doors by the pool in their house 'Bleep' in Surrey. However, it had to be brought indoors in the winter and was installed by the window; being heavy it remained in the same place since the late 1980s.
