Physical Object Description:

The painting was inspired by the Old Bedford or the Alhambra Music Hall. The Bedford had been a haunt of the Camden Town Group artists. A chalk and wash study of At the Hippodrome, 1920 (48 x 45.2 cm) was purchased from the Fine Art Society by the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery, Bedford (£200, Jan. 1967).
